Na zijn glorieuze overwinning op het Leids Cabaret Festival, toerde Roy voornamelijk in Nederland rond met twee avondvullende programma’s. Wanneer bij die laatste tournee tweemaal het noodlot toesloeg leek het universum hem iets duidelijk te willen maken (hij werd te Rotterdam op het podium geëlektrocuteerd door zijn elektrische gitaar, en niet veel later kreeg hij op het eiland Texel een trombose in zijn been). Al bij al vatte Roy het sportief op, beëindigde zijn comedycarrière en ging andere horizonten verkennen op zoek naar de betekenis van dit alles.
Zo’n 15 jaar later is hij er nog steeds niet achter wat het precies was wat het universum hem wilde vertellen. En dus keert hij in ZAALSHOW 1 terug naar waar hij eindigde en ooit begon: alleen en op een podium.
Zingend, zwijgend en lachend!
Met zichzelf en de wereld.
Gewapend met zijn gitaar, een akoestische deze keer, bestormt hij het podium met zijn kenmerkende talige, surreële en ietwat ontregelende humor.

Après sa glorieuse victoire au Festival de cabaret de Leyde, Roy a principalement tourné aux Pays-Bas avec deux spectacles qui duraient toute la soirée. Lorsque le malheur a frappé à deux reprises lors de cette dernière tournée, l’univers semblait vouloir lui faire passer un message (il a été électrocuté sur scène à Rotterdam par sa guitare électrique, et peu après, il a fait une thrombose à la jambe sur l’île de Texel). Dans l'ensemble, Roy l'a pris avec philosophie, a mis fin à sa carrière d'humoriste et est parti explorer d'autres horizons à la recherche du sens de tout cela.
Une quinzaine d'années plus tard, il n'a toujours pas compris ce que l'univers voulait exactement lui dire. C'est pourquoi, dans ZAALSHOW 1, il revient là où il s'était arrêté et où il avait commencé : seul sur scène.

Armé de sa guitare, une acoustique cette fois-ci, il prend d'assaut la scène avec son humour caractéristique, surréaliste et quelque peu déstabilisant.
