SONGTEXT: DE KEUZE VAN SoFA

Aan elke deelnemer van Jong Muziek vroegen we een songtekst om in de TAZette te publiceren. Met de eerste band is het al raak: SÒFA brengt, jawel, instrumentale muziek met een “huiselijk kamergevoel”, in de sfeer van de sfeervolle scores van de IJslander Johann Johannsson of de filmmuziek van Clint Mansell.

Omdat we voor de eerste aflevering van deze rubriek niet blanco willen beginnen, vroegen we Karen Willems van SÒFA naar een songtekst van een muzikale held. Et voilà. Willems: “Ik heb gekozen voor Another World van Anthony and the Johnsons. Het is prachtige muziek bij een donkere tekst over onze gedoemde wereld. Prachtig door de uitzonderlijke stem van Anthony, maar ook door de meeslepende arrangementen van de Amerikaanse hedendaagse componist Nico Muhly, zeker een voorbeeld voor ons.”
