CAFE KOER

Café Koer remains the beating heart of TAZ, where young and old, artist, visitor and random passer-by meet. At night as well as during the day, this is the place to be. In the concert tent a gig is on every night; if you’d rather flee the noise for a while, the adjacent terrace offers a ‘quiter’ spot. During the day it is also a pleasant hang about. The CoffeeQueen treats you to sweets, coffee and all sorts of tea. No better place to browse through the TAZette, our festival newspaper offering the latest scoops, reviews and witty interviews. The TAZ-editors do their utmost to have the TAZette ready for you daily at 13h. The TAZette can be found at the three meeting points, in the Ostend Tourist Centre and at all TAZ-locations. NEW AT CAFÉ KOER! CARAVAN TAZ

Music selectors Jan Ducheyne and Kevin Bellemans (The Suntripper) will surprise you daily from 18h until 22h with atmospheric songs that they or their blown along guests have selected.

Here and there a hint of poetry, an astounding mini-performance, a short interview, or a small dj-set ... nothing is set, but everything is possible. Caravan TAZ, in front of the big tent at the station square... Welcome!

 

 

FAMILIEPARK

Just like last year the Leopoldspark will be transformed into a familypark (HET FAMILIEPARK) by TAZ and Mechelen Kinderstad. In- and outdoor theatre and a fairy tale like meeting point on the hill. With the authentic circus trailers from Alles loopt op Rolletjes vzw, music, quarter of an hour out loud readings (by TAZ-guests), workshops, a 60’s terrace, a picknick grassland, folklore games and a tranquil spot for baby’s (with microwave, changing pillow, sofa ...).

Daily update of activities/guests via TAZette.

The meeting point is open from 11h to 19h, from Saturday 30 July until Friday 5 August.

 

 

ZEEHELDENPLEIN (tent)

Uitgelezen is a public favourite … Like last edition therefore, we welcome our audience this summer at our toplocation, the literary tent at the Zeeheldenplein! This year, Uitgelezen is sided by two other literary cannons - a daily reading at 11 o’clock and a writer’s concert at 21h (except on Fri 5/8). There’s also a terrace, where literary conversation may unfold.

 

The literary café is open from Saturday 30 July until Friday 5 August.

Opening hours: 10h to 23h. With the exception of Friday 5 August: 10h to 19h.

  • Our daily magazine, also known as the TAZette, will keep you informed: the latest news, reviews or interviews... As a rule the TAZette is available every day at about 13h.
