BLUES/ROOTS
Reena Riot’s roots are drenched in blues and roots music. She bites, shrieks, whispers, sighs and paws the ground while rubbing her old Fender Telecaster against her body. Her throat wide open, her hart and soul exposed. Reena Riot does not perform her songs, she (re)lives them. Solo as well as with band she peaks for the duration of the entire act. Let her, no requests please, and certainly nothing by Lady Gaga! She is not a fan. ‘This riot girl is for real’.
Reena Riot is Naomi Sijmons, 23 years old, daughter of Els De Meulenaere and Alphonse ‘Fons’ Sijmons. She studies song at Condarts.
